Welcome to the College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin. Founded in 1891, we are proud to be consistently ranked among the top-ten programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report. Our college is recreating the landscape of education by developing leaders who will meet the challenges of a diverse society and empower tomorrow's citizens to be lifelong learners.
We value academic research in all five of our nationally ranked departments: Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership and Policy, Educational Psychology, Special Education, and Kinesiology and Health Education. For six consecutive years, the college has been ranked number one nationally in research expenditures, with a total of $61 million, by U.S. News & World Report.
We also have centers, institutes, and programs that are internationally influential research powerhouses, and they’re helping us lead the way in the development of innovative approaches to complex issues.
Graduate and undergraduate students learn from the best. Our research-based programs train education and health professionals to bring vision and leadership to teaching and learning. Partnerships with leading research centers and community practitioners prepare students for successful careers as teachers, physical therapists, coaches, professors and researchers.
Approximately 850 undergraduate and 370 graduate students matriculate annually. Graduates of the College of Education exceed employer expectations with the level of experience they bring to the workforce. Our alumni represent a vast network of real-world change makers.
