Division A of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) supports educational leadership and has recently named Terrance Green, assistant professor of educational administration, as the 2017 recipient of its prestigious Early Career Award. The award is given to scholars who have made outstanding research contributions to the field of leadership, administration, or organizational theory, and highlights those who are in the pre-tenure period of their careers. Green will receive with award at the upcoming national AERA conference in San Antonio this April.
Green, whose research focuses on urban school reform and socially just community development, said he was humbled and excited to be selected. A former high school science teacher, Green’s research has been published in Teachers College Record, Educational Administration Quarterly, Urban Review, International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, Urban Education, Education and Urban Society, Journal of School Leadership, and the Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership. His work has also been featured in a variety of popular press venues such as TIME, the Austin American Statesman, and the Dallas Morning News.
