The ITO provides a wide array of services for the students, faculty, and staff of the College of Education. To request any of the following services, please email the Service Desk.

  • Equipment Checkout and Delivery for Classrooms

    Checkout of laptops, projectors and other digital media equipment is available to College of Education students, faculty and staff or anyone currently enrolled in an Education course. The loan period varies with the type of equipment borrowed and current demand for it. There are no charges for this service, although there could be a loss of privileges due to equipment turned in late. Delivery of equipment to rooms in SZB can also be requested during ITO Service Desk hours.     Advance reservations of equipment are encouraged and can be made using the ITO’s online reservation system. Reservation requests should be submitted at least 48 hours before a resource is needed.

    Patrons should come to the ITO Service Desk in SZB 536 and present a current UT ID to pick up equipment.

    Reserve Equipment Online

  • Computer/Technical Support

    The ITO provides computer and other technical assistance to College faculty and staff. Submit assistance requests for all technical matters to the ITO’s Help system. If computer access is down, call 512-471-4357.

  • Printing

    Printing is provided through the ITS UTPrint service in SZB 439.

    Printing in the ITO is provided through the UTprint service. Both color and black and white printing are available in the Computer Lab area in SZB 439. Students must have prepaid Bevo Bucks and use a UT ID proximity card to retrieve their prints at the printers. 

  • Automated Computer Backups

    Automated Desktop Backup for Faculty and Staff

    CrashPlan Pro provides many benefits, including:

  • Instructor Reserves

    Instructors of College of Education classes who wish to make course materials available for checkout to students may place items on reserve at the ITO Help Desk in SZB 536.

    Instructors may specify the length of the checkout period and whether materials are room-use only.

    Students should come to the Services Desk in SZB 536 and present a current UT ID to check out Reserve materials.

    A catalog of all reserve items is available at the desk.

  • Videoconferencing

    Videoconferencing allows for audio and video communications between you and a classmate, professor, or guest lecturer who are not able to physically attend a class or meeting for whatever reason. Video conferencing rooms are available in the College as is the ability for people in remote locations to participate in a video conference by using software installed on their computers.     Video Conferencing Tech Support is available via the Service Desk.

  • CoE Desktop

    CoE Desktop is a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). It allows users to remotely log into virtual computers pre-configured with special software. It is provided to College of Education faculty, staff, students, and students enrolled in a College of Education course that requires special software.

  • Wireless Network

    The ITO provides wireless networking throughout the Sánchez Building, Bellmont Hall and Anna Hiss Gym.
