Nelson Coulter brings a wealth of service experience to the faculty of the UT Austin Principalship Program.  In addition to his service as Adjunct Assistant Professor to the program since 2006, he has been a practitioner in K-12 education in all the following roles:  classroom teacher (mathematics, physical education, industrial trades, student leadership), athletic coach, academic coach, athletic director, assistant principal, campus principal (elementary, middle school, and high school), superintendent of schools, and professor of education.

Dr. Coulter has taught and provided ongoing to support to UT Austin Principalship students and its graduates since 2006.  He has taught the School Business Management course for many years, and has guided students in the internship portion of their programming.

Dr. Coulter continues to serve the educational endeavor beyond the walls of UT Austin. He is a highly sought after presenter in education conferences, consults regularly with school districts, campuses, and education service centers, and writes continually as a blogger (nc's Recursive Learning), contributor of articles, and author of books.
