The Profound Impact Mentorship Can Have on Achievement: Video Q&A with Associate Professor Kizzy Albritton

As part of a storytelling series celebrating Black History Month, we welcomed our community members to share their stories to inspire others and encourage open, thought-provoking dialogue. We sat down with Dr. Kizzy Albritton, associate professor in the Department of Educational Psychology, to tell us more about her background, accomplishments, challenges and the mentors who helped her along the way.

Dr. Albritton’s research examines ways school psychologists can improve the academic, social-emotional and behavioral outcomes for preschool-age children from minoritized and marginalized backgrounds in early childhood settings. Prior to completing her Ph.D., she worked as an elementary and middle school special education teacher.
