Alexandra Ryan is a current M.Ed graduate student studying Education Planning and Policy. She provides a unique intersection of musical expertise with education policy to investigate educational disparities in both the arts and public sectors. She has worked in schools, community centers, and nonprofit organizations to develop programs intended to strengthen access to high quality music education for under-resourced communities.

Prior to her graduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, Alexandra earned her B.Mus. in Composition from the University of Utah. There, Alexandra was the Education Coordinator at Mundi Project - a Salt Lake City-based nonprofit that seeks to break down socioeconomic barriers to music experiences. It was through this work that she discovered the role policy plays in her students' well-being at school and their access to art.

Alexandra is currently a SPIRAL Educator with The Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk, where she oversees professional development and facilitates coaching sessions for 4th-5th grade educators in Austin ISD. Her research continues to motivate her drive to dismantle inequitable policy in the arts and beyond.
