Bardo Montelongo
Throughout my professional career, I have dedicated myself to serving culturally and ethnically diverse student populations and the community that defines them. As an immigrant and an English language learner, I know firsthand the challenges many of our scholars face and the obstacles they must overcome. However, as the son of a secondary school principal, I am familiar with the virtue of a guiding hand, the empowerment found within a good education and the forcefulness of social justice leadership. For this reason, I have dedicated myself to labor alongside fellow educators, parents, and community members to provide all students with the education and social-emotional support needed to succeed in school and life.
Over the years, Ive been honored to lead two elementary and a high school. Through this experience, I learned that nothing worth achieving is accomplished alone; to accomplish the success of all scholars within our schools, collaboration is essential. Strong school cultures founded on trust are critical to creating learning environments for adults and students in which each one is encouraged, supported, and pushed to be their authentic best.
I received my bachelors in mathematics and masters in educational administration from The University of Texas at Austin, and I am a proud Longhorn through and through. I have been happily married for 17 years and have two beautiful children.
