Delando L. Crooks earned his B.A. in Communication Studies and M.Ed. in Learning, Diversity, and Urban Studies from Vanderbilt University with a focus on First-Generation College Athletes before joining the Program in Higher Education Leadership at the University of Texas at Austin.
His research focuses on the experiences and well-being of academic support staff in college athletic departments as well as the academic success of college athletes and students of color in higher education. Delando is currently serving a dual Graduate Research Assistant appointment with Dr. Richard Reddick and the College of Education and with Dr. Ryan Sutton in the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement's Longhorn Center for Academic Equity and the Heman Sweatt Center for Black Males.
