Kamil/Q. Brown is a third-year PHEL doctoral student. Prior to joining the UT Austin community, Kamil worked with aspiring college students--most recently, as the senior associate director of operations at University of Pennsylvania. Kamil also held positions in graduate admissions at Yale Law School, Fordham University School of Law, and the Teachers College at Columbia University. Kamil is a native of Springfield, Massachusetts and a proud New Englander. He earned a bachelor of arts, with majors in African American studies and political science, from University of Massachusetts at Amherst; and master of arts degrees, in education, from New York University and the Teachers College at Columbia University.
Research interests: Social politics of college access, race-consciousness educational equity, admission and enrollment management, and organizational change in higher education
