Shanley Hicks
Shanley Hicks is a graduate student in the Education Policy and Planning program, studying Educational Leadership and Policy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education at Auburn University.
Her experiences growing up in public schools across the U.S. and serving as a public classroom teacher in Dallas have shaped her priorities in what she hopes to accomplish in the policy realm.
She is passionate about best practices in early childhood literacy, prioritizing social emotional learning, and creating an equitable public education system in which diverse identities and needs are welcomed, valued, and served.
