Shubhi is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Early Childhood Education. Her experience in early education spans three countries, India, Taiwan, and the U.S.. Prior to coming to UT, she worked as a preschool teacher and teacher trainer in Taiwan. In India, she worked with a non-profit called Delhi Council for Child Welfare, and then as a research associate with the Center for Early Childhood Education and Development, Ambedkar University, Delhi. She also worked as an assistant professor at Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi, and has an extensive experience in working with children and communities from different socio-cultural and economic backgrounds. Her research interests include global perspectives on childhood, socio-cultural processes in early education, and equity and social justice issues in early education. She is currently working on her doctoral dissertation that looks to understand school readiness practices in India. She holds a masters degree in Child Development from Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi, India.
