Susanne has worked with individuals with disabilities of all ages for over 12 years, and has experience as a direct service provider and clinical supervisor. Susanne began her career as an early intervention specialist (EIS) after earning her bachelor's degree in psychology from UT Austin in 2007. She then returned to UT Austin in 2012 to specialize in autism and related disorders and earned her behavior analyst certification. Currently, Susanne is in her third year of study as a doctoral student in the Department of Early Childhood Special Education. Her research interests include neural measures of speech processing in young children, parent education, and the effects of intervention on cognitive and adaptive outcomes for young children with autism. Susanne is particularly interested in summarizing the effects of autism related interventions through meta-analysis. Susanne assists Dr. Sandbank's team as a graduate research assistant in The Brain and Language Lab, and holds a position as a graduate research assistant with the Texas Center for Disability Studies. Susanne also serves individuals with autism and their families through her direct work with Positive Behavior Supports Corp. (PBS) as regional coordinator for the Austin and San Antonio regions.
