Tessa Arsenault is a doctoral student in special education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities and Behavioral Disorders at the University of Texas at Austin. As a doctoral student, Tessa’s research interests center around math disabilities with an emphasis on comorbid language and math disabilities. Prior to starting her doctorate degree, Tessa earned her Bachelor’s of Arts from the University of California at San Diego in Human Development and her Master’s of Education from Vanderbilt University in Special Education with a focus on High Incidence Disabilities. After completing her Master’s degree, Tessa spent five years as a mild/moderate special education teacher in Aurora, Colorado. She supported K-5 students through intensive intervention and co-teaching in the subject areas of mathematics, reading, and writing.
