Linda G. Mora, Ph.D. ’05, was honored by the school district where she spent the remaining 14 years of a career that lasted almost five decades when it named an elementary school for her. Mora served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and curriculum supervisor for students in Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco ISD, Corpus Christi ISD, United ISD, and Zapata County ISD. She also worked for the Texas Education Agency and the Region 13 Education Service Center.
At Northside ISD, she served as the deputy superintendent of curriculum and instruction until she retired in 2016. During that time, she earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Texas at Austin, created the Office of School Improvement to provide direct support for target schools, and led the development and implementation of Curriculum Diagnostic Benchmarks, the adoption of a curriculum management system, and the implementation of a multi-year rollout of differentiated instruction.
