Assistant Professor Owen Beck’s new research study examines the intersection of biomechanics, mobility and footwear. The study found that women and men who frequently don high-heeled footwear can actually become more efficient walkers, and that custom high-heeled shoes may have positive implications for athletes or for people with mobility issues.
