The Department of Special Education is a collaboration between faculty, students, staff and resources aimed at improving the quality of life and promoting success for individuals with disabilities. The innovative research from our department has a deep global impact. Our students and faculty are actively involved with topics such as intensive interventions in reading and mathematics, supporting English language learners, special education service delivery, assistive technology, and behavioral interventions for students with autism; and our graduate programs are driven by research that aims to support equitable educational opportunities for all members of society. The impact and quality of our programs is also recognized through our current rank of seventh in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
