Lauren Hampton and Natasha Strassfeld have been awarded a $3.6 million doctoral training grant for a project, “Preparing Early Childhood Special Education Researchers for Diverse Settings (EARLY)” from the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services in the U.S. Department of Education. Strassfeld will serve as the principal investigator and project director with Hampton serving as co-principal investigator.
Peng Peng was named as an editorial fellow by the journal Psychological Bulletin. A flagship journal of the American Psychological Association and a top-tier journal in the social sciences, Psychological Bulletin publishes evidence syntheses of research in scientific psychology which seeks to summarize past research by drawing overall conclusions from many separate investigations that address related or identical hypotheses.
Luis Urrieta and Natasha Strassfeld were invited speakers at the Mexican American School Boards Association conference in San Antonio this September. The annual event also featured state and national leaders such as Texas Education Agency Commissioner Mike Morath and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro.
Ana Dala received the 2023 Rookie Research Administrator Award from the Office of the Vice President for Research and Creative Endeavors. This annual award recognizes valuable contributions of a staff member new to the profession of research administration.
