Bellmont Hall has been transformed to support the future of teaching, learning and research at the College of Education. Recent renovations have created modern classrooms, state-of-the-art labs, refurbished faculty and student spaces, and The Fringe, home of Texas Cheer and Pom. These improvements position Bellmont as a hub for innovation, collaboration and student success.
Multiple floors of Bellmont Hall have been modernized to provide cutting-edge facilities for health and sport research, instruction and professional training. New faculty labs, classrooms and graduate student lounges support hands-on learning and interdisciplinary collaboration. These redesigned spaces will equip students and faculty with the tools to advance the college’s research and impact across health, performance and sport.
The third-floor space known as The Fringe serves as the new home and practice facility for Texas Cheer and Pom. Named for the team’s iconic fringe uniforms, the facility features a 30-foot ceiling designed for stunts, as well as meeting spaces and a Hook ’Em mascot zone. This space, made possible thanks to a generous donation by Amy Porter, provides the Spirit Squad with a dedicated home to enhance both their training, studies and student life.
Additional renovations include a new weight room for courses such as powerlifting, upgraded classrooms, and the Andree and Bryan Moynihan Sport Management Wall, celebrating the growth and impact of the program. These enhancements support excellence across health, kinesiology, sport and academic programs.
