L. Theo Bellmont Hall is undergoing a transformative renovation to create modern, student-centered environments that support research, training and innovation in health, kinesiology and sport. The renovated spaces will enhance learning experiences, provide advanced facilities for faculty and students, and celebrate the college’s commitment to excellence in athletics, wellness and education.

State-of-the-Art Research and Learning Spaces

Multiple floors of Bellmont have been modernized to provide cutting-edge facilities for health and sport research, instruction and professional training. New faculty labs, classrooms and graduate student lounges support hands-on learning and interdisciplinary collaboration. These redesigned spaces will equip students and faculty with the tools needed advance the college’s research and impact across health, performance and sport.

The Fringe: Texas Cheer and Pom Facility

The third-floor space known as The Fringe serves as the new home and practice facility for Texas Cheer and Pom. Named for the team’s iconic fringe uniforms, the facility features a 30-foot ceiling designed for stunts, as well as meeting spaces and a Hook ’Em mascot zone. This space provides the Spirit Squad with a dedicated home to enhance both their training, studies and student life.

Program Highlights

Additional renovations include a new weight room for courses such as powerlifting, upgraded classrooms, and the Andree and Bryan Moynihan Sport Management Wall, celebrating the growth and impact of the sport management program. These enhancements support excellence across health, kinesiology, sport and academic programs.
