George I. Sánchez: I Am the Man You Think I Am – Exhibit Discussion and Reception

The College of Education is honored to present the George I. Sánchez exhibit, currently on display in the George I. Sánchez Building, celebrating a visionary leader and champion of civil rights who exemplified strength in the face of adversity.

Please join us for a special reception and panel discussion on the exhibit, I Am the Man You Think I Am, as we reflect upon the remarkable life and lasting legacy of Dr. Sánchez, a true trailblazer and distinguished UT Austin alumnus.

Led by Drs. Monica Muñoz Martinez and Annette M. Rodríguez of UT Austin’s Department of History, the exhibit showcases archival materials from the Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection and the Briscoe Center for American History.

Guest panelists include Senator Gonzalo Barrientos, Dr. Carlos Blanton of the Department of History, and Dr. Angela Valenzuela of the College of Education.
