Description

Join us for our next event in the McCraw Lecture Series presented by Father Jose Rodriguez. Five years after Hurricane Maria, Father Rodriguez will provide his insights as we explore common themes of migration from the perspective of crisis migration.

Hurricane Maria collided the worlds of an already established pattern of economic migration with the trauma and unique needs of a community displaced by a disaster. With a backdrop of an already established and growing Hispanic community, Orlando saw not only a wave of migration from Puerto Rico but concurrently migration caused by political turmoil in Venezuela. Join us as we walk from disaster and recovery to resiliency and restoration.
