Alejandra García Isaza is Assistant Professor of Instruction in Kinesiology and Health Education at the University of Texas at Austin. She trained as a professional psychologist at Universidad de San Buenaventura in Medellín, Colombia, and earned a PhD in Prevention Science from the University of Oregon. Her work advances prevention science through the design, implementation, and evaluation of culturally responsive, place-based interventions. Her research examines the social and emotional processes that shape intergroup attitudes toward migrants and applies prevention science to develop and evaluate interventions that promote social cohesion.
