Dr. Cody Fernández has spent over 20 years serving in the field of multilingual curriculum and instruction. She began her career as a middle school ESL teacher and later took on administrative roles at the district and campus levels. Dr. Fernández has had the opportunity to work with and support many districts across Texas. In each role, she has had the opportunity to create curriculum, design, and implement ESL and Dual Language programs, and support instruction of multilingual learners across all content classrooms.

Dr. Fernández earned an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Bilingual Curriculum from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and an MA in Linguistics with TESOL certification. She has presented nationally on effective and sustainable systems of curriculum, instruction, and programming for multilingual learners in ESL, Dual Language, and World Language classrooms. Her entire career has been dedicated to advocating for successful educational opportunities that sustain cultural and linguistic knowledge of multilingual learners.
