Dr. Molly Beth Malcolm is a Professor of Practice at The University of Texas at Austin where she teaches doctoral students Politics and Policy of Higher Education. A retired college administrator and Licensed Professional Counselor, she continues to shape policy and leadership in education and public service.
Dr. Malcolm served as Executive Vice Chancellor of Austin Community College District (ACC), where she provided leadership across key departments including:
Community and Public Affairs;
Safety and Operations Department over all campus management of more than a dozen campuses, regulatory affairs, quality control and project management, risk management, and transportation; and
ACC Police Department.
Malcolm represented the college and the Chancellor in the community, acting as a key point of contact to business leaders, government officials, educational leaders, and the public. She advised the Chancellor on issues related to ACCs partnerships in the community including transportation, economic development, and solicitation of major donors.
Dr. Malcolm was a central force in the development of ACCs flagship Highland Campus and helped coordinate efforts for the successful $335 million bond election in 2014 and the successful $770 million bond election in 2022.
The recipient of numerous awards throughout her career, Dr. Malcolm earned her Doctor of Education degree from The University of Texas at Austin, an undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University, and a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M UniversityTexarkana. She has been a member of the University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) Board since 2017 and currently serves as the Board Vice-Chairman.
