Hook Em Here: Harlingen Internship Program

Welcome to the Hook Em Here: Harlingen Internship Program, an exciting and enriching summer opportunity for undergraduate students interested in education, health and youth and community studies at the College of Education. This program offers valuable, hands-on experience by immersing students in the vibrant Rio Grande Valley community in south Texas. Interns will work within the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District (HCISD) and collaborate with local community organizations, gaining practical skills and insights that will shape their future careers.

It’s an Immersive Experience

The Hook Em Here: Harlingen Internship is a fully immersive experience that places you in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley region where Texas as Mexico meet. The Valley is known for its rich history, cultures and traditions. Interns engage directly with HCISD students, educators and community leaders, while making a tangible impact and learning from experienced mentors and professionals.

Paid Internship

Financial support during your academic journey is incredibly important. The Hook Em Here: Harlingen is a paid internship accompanied by a Dean’s Community Service Award stipend, ensuring you can focus on your professional and personal growth without financial stress.

How to Get Involved and Apply 

Eligibility

COE undergraduate students who meet the eligibility requirements and have a passion for community service may apply.

Application Process 

We encourage all interested students to register for our virtual Q & A session on January 24.

Deadline
