Aron D Muci

Aron Muci is a doctoral student in Higher Education Leadership and Policy at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds an M.A. in English Literature and Theory from the University of Kansas and a B.A. in English Literature and Cultural Studies from the University of Oklahoma. Aron studies educational slow violence as a transdisciplinary critical analytic for understanding how higher education systems normalize cumulative harm through law, policy, institutional governance, and epistemic control. His work brings together sociolegal analysis, critical policy and discourse studies, ecocriticism, ecological theory, decolonial thought, Indigenous epistemologies, Afro-pessimism, and Black fugitivity to examine how universities reproduce racial-colonial authority through settler colonial projects that alienate peoples from land, place, memory, and knowledge. His current academic projects focus on repressive legalism, anti-DEI and anti-CRT policy regimes, academic freedom, writer-activism, and the institutional conditions that shape knowledge production in public higher education while also generating possibilities for resistance, refusal, and universities/otherwise. Aron is also a higher education research administration professional at the University of Texas at Austin, with prior experience as a writing tutor, English instructor, and educator.
