David M. Granado is a doctoral candidate in the Executive Ed.D. Program in Higher Education Leadership at The University of Texas at Austin. His research examines department chair sustainability in public universities, with particular attention to how academic leaders make sense of and navigate the complexities of multi-campus institutional environments. David's scholarly interests include academic leadership, organizational sensemaking, leadership sustainability, and higher education administration.
David currently serves as Deputy to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), where he provides strategic support for academic operations, policy development, planning, and institutional initiatives. Previously, he served as Assistant Dean for Administration in UTRGV's College of Education and P-16 Integration.
He earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy from The University of Texas-Pan American, UTRGV's legacy institution. Before entering higher education administration, David worked in public sector auditing for the Hidalgo County Auditor's Office.
