Emine Busra Ozturk is a doctoral student in Early Childhood Intervention in the Department of Special Education at The University of Texas at Austin, where she also serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Priscilla Pond Flawn Family and Child Lab. She is advised by Dr. Lauren Hampton.
She holds a Bachelors degree in Special Education from Sakarya University (2015) and a Master of Science in Early Childhood Special Education from Anadolu University, Turkey (2019). Her master's thesis focused on maternal interactional behaviors, autism spectrum disorder severity, social skills, and problem behaviors in young children.
Professional Background & Research Interests:
With over a decade of practitioner experience as a special education teacher with the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE) and as an Early Intervention Specialist, she has actively contributed to national curriculum adaptations, digital learning applications, and family support resources in collaboration with MoNE and UNICEF-Turkey.
Supported by the national YLSY Graduate Scholarship, her research interests focus on:
Family-centered, evidence-based early interventions
Caregiver coaching and parent-mediated practices
Naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions (NDBI) and dialogic reading
Social-communicative development in young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental delays
