Student - College of Education

Joemari Olea is a doctoral student in the Educational Psychology program at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in Quantitative Methods. He holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in Statistics, which have provided him with a strong foundation in statistical theory and methods. His research interests center on psychometrics, cognitive diagnosis modeling, and item response theory. He is particularly interested in developing and evaluating quantitative methods that improve the measurement and understanding of educational and psychological characteristics.

His research interests center on psychometrics, with a particular focus on cognitive diagnostic modeling (CDM) and item response theory (IRT). His current work explores the application of CDM and IRT methods in small-classroom settings, with an emphasis on making psychometric tools more practical and informative in contexts with limited sample sizes.

Hyeon-Ah Kang (Supervisor)
Studies statistical and computational methods for analyzing psychometric data. Research areas include item response theory, response time modeling, cognitively diagnostic models, computer-adaptive testing, and multimodal analytics of cognitive and behavioral data.
