Ramon Blakley is a national leader in enrollment management with over 24 years of experience in college admissions, including directorships at public and private higher education institutions. He currently serves as Director of Recruitment in the Office of Admissions at the University of Texas at Austin.
He completed Harvard University's 59th Summer Institute on College Admissions. Hes held leadership positions with the Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling (MOACAC), the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC), and in 2016 he was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). He was awarded NACAC's Rising Star Program Award in 2014 and MOACAC's President Service award in 2010. He currently serves on Governance and Nominating Committee for NACAC and as President of the Texas Association for College Admission Counseling. Blakley is the first African American male to hold this position.
He earned a B.S. in Mass Communications from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, an M.S.Ed. in Counseling from Missouri State University, and a Doctorate of Education from The University of Texas at Austin. His academic interests include recruitment, retention, and college choice among students of color, and he aspires to lead a comprehensive enrollment management portfolio.
