Stephanie "Noel" Johnstone began her Ph.D. journey in HDCLS, Summer 2024.
She is originally from the Greater Seattle, WA area. This is where she grew up, and obtained 3 associates and 2 bachelors degrees. It was her master's at Teachers College, Columbia University, that took her out of the state and all the way across the country.
Now in Texas, she works under Dr. Veronica Yan and the Science of Learning and Metacognition Lab (co-lead by Dr. Yan, Dr. Muenks, and Dr. Chen).
Her primary interests include transfer of knowledge, memory, problem-solving, expertise, deep learning, and general cognition and learning. Her goal is to make learning more applicable and to create better problem-solvers.
