The College of Education is home to five academic departments: Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership and Policy, Educational Psychology, Kinesiology and Health Education and Special Education. Each department is consistently ranked among the top in the nation in their specific area. Students learn from world-class faculty members as we work together to explore and research issues that directly affect local communities and education and health policies throughout the country.
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers both undergraduate and graduate programs and addresses the educational needs of a rapidly changing global society in democratic and socially just ways. Our students prepare for careers as certified teachers, advocates for education, and early childhood development and leadership positions that promote equity and excellence in the education of diverse communities.

Our students train to become scholars, professors and educational leaders for PK-12 public schools, higher education and the P-16 policy arena.

Students train to work as teachers, counselors, evaluators and researchers in educational environments and hone skills in the areas of human development and behavior, the psychology of education, learning theory and research and evaluation methods.

Our students and faculty members study human movement, health behavior and sport culture. Each program is designed to expose students to cutting-edge research, internships and practical experience.

Our students study topics such as supporting bilingual students with disabilities, design and evaluation of assistive technology, educating students with autism spectrum disorders and others.
