McCraw Lecture: “The Mismeasure of Gods: Classical Sculpture and the Origins of Scientific Racism in Sport”

Charles Stocking, an associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education, will map out the influence of classical sculpture on the development of scientific racism in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. He will further demonstrate how this influence can still be observed today in the fields of Kinesiology and Sport Performance.
