SMARTER Workshop: Bayesian Modeling

Date
Mar 11, 2022
Time
10:00 am (CST)
Description

Many fields of social science are currently using the Bayesian approach. The Bayesian analysis is flexible to complex models and realistic data structures, including small samples, missing data, outliers, etc. Bayesian Methods Workshop topics will include

  •  How Bayesian analysis differs from traditional (Frequentist) statistical analysis
  • The concepts Bayes’ rule
  • The concept of  “Markov chain Monte Carlo” algorithms
  • Some model applications, including linear regression, ANOVA, logistic regression, and missing data treatments in Bayesian inference
  • R will be used for estimation
