Conversation Series: Staying Strong Under Stress, Faculty Lecture
Much of what we know about stress in education predates the COVID-19 pandemic. The ongoing pandemic created many challenges, and hopefully, opportunities. This conversation will focus on what we have learned about stress and what is needed to promote the occupational health of teachers through the pandemic and beyond. Professor Chris McCarthy has been investigating teacher stress for 20 years and is recognized as a national leader in this area of research. Along with his panel of graduate students, they will briefly overview research findings from central Texas teachers during the 2020-21 school year. This forum will also be a space for participants to ask questions and offer commentary on how to support the occupational health of teachers going forward.
