From Swift Recovery to New Challenges: The Digitalization of Schools

Date
Feb 27, 2023
Time
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm (CST)
Description

The digitalization of schools should be viewed as much more than just putting things online: it is about taking the leverage of the technology and adopting high-end solutions in parallel to those already tested in practice. The aim is to discuss recent development toward the School-as-a-Service paradigm from Nordic and African perspectives. The change is welcomed due to increased flexibility and being fail safe. However, key stakeholders are facing the change differently. If key stakeholders are teachers, students and families, then the most salient issue is a connection to digital literacy. Recent research in two different contexts has revealed universal and particular challenges yet also extremely creative ways to cope.

About the Speaker

He is interested in different use contexts and users. Digital literacy underpins the topics, as understanding how technology plays a central role in sustainable digital existence is about behavior. In sociotechnical context human-technology interaction, especially information ergonomics, is one of the key topics.
