In celebration of Women’s History Month, and in honor of outstanding women everywhere, the College of Education invites you to a special event featuring Dr. Jan Todd (Ph.D. ’95), professor and chair of the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education. Dr. Todd will discuss her book, “Physical Culture and the Body Beautiful: Purposive Exercise in the Lives of American Women,” which examines the impact of physical culture in American women during the 19th century.

Dr. Todd is a former competitive powerlifter and true pioneer in women’s fitness. During her career, she set more than 60 national and world records and was recognized as the strongest woman in the world. She and her husband, Terry Todd, founded the H.J. Lutcher Stark Center for Physical Culture and Sports.

All College of Education students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend.

Register soon as space is limited. The doors will open 10 minutes prior to the event and box lunches will be served.
