Dr. Annette Tielle is currently a professor and core faculty member of University of Texas Cooperative Superintendency Program. She served as Superintendent of Schools in Del Valle ISD from March of 2019 to December of 2024, also earning the title of Superintendent Emeritus. With a career spanning diverse educational roles, she brought expertise from positions such as elementary teacher, secondary teacher, reading specialist, administrator, and assistant superintendent. Tielle's leadership was marked by two successful bond initiatives, including the 2019 bond package of $284 million with a historic passing rate of 75%, and the 2022 bond package of $300 million with a notable 65% passing rate, resulting in the construction of new schools and infrastructure improvements. Dr. Tielle has keen perception when leading the development of strategic planning and uses much of the studies that she researched while writing her dissertation.

During her tenure, Dr. Tielle spearheaded initiatives to enhance student learning, including the development of tailored curriculum and implementation of innovative educational models aimed at improving student performance and closing achievement gaps. Significant achievements include partnerships with organizations such as the Thinkery Museum, establishing a DVISD Thinkery STEAM Child Development Center, and UT Dana Center, fostering early literacy and bilingual education programs. Additionally, collaborations with industry leaders such as Tesla and Infineon led to the creation of the DVISD P-TECH Early College High School and workforce development opportunities, which provide high school students and graduating seniors with valuable internships and job prospects.

Through strategic budget planning, under Dr. Tielle's leadership, Del Valle ISD maintained fiscal responsibility while prioritizing employee compensation, raising salaries by 23% in five years. The district's commitment to financial integrity and employee well-being earned it the highest rating on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, setting Del Valle ISD apart as a leader in educational stewardship and support for its workforce.
