Dr. Erin Benton is an assistant professor of instruction in health behavior and health education in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at The University of Texas at Austin. She was previously an assistant professor of public health at Winston-Salem State University. She received her Ph.D. in Health Behavior and Health Education from The University of Texas at Austin, her MPH in Community Health from Baylor University, and her B.S. in Health Promotion and Health Education from Boise State University. Her research focuses on IPV, HIV and PrEP adoption, sexual decision making, hookup culture, and sexual purity (purity culture) and intimate relationships. Dr. Benton does not accept graduate students.
