Kizzy Albritton received her BS from the University of Alabama, and MEd and PhD from Georgia State University. Prior to completing her PhD, she worked as an elementary and middle school special education teacher. Dr. Albritton's research agenda includes three lines of inquiry: (1) expanding the role of school psychologists working in early childhood settings; (2) exploring the implementation of multi-tiered frameworks in early childhood settings; and (3) examining school-based issues that may influence the academic and social-emotional outcomes for students from minoritized and marginalized backgrounds.
Dr. Albritton will be considering applications for new doctoral students for Fall 2025.

Kenia Cruz (Supervisor)I am interested in prevention and intervention strategies in early childhood, particularly with culturally and linguistically minoritized, and economically marginalized preschool-aged children. Additionally, I am interested in examining the role of bilingual school psychologists in early childhood settings. Further, I am interested in the language development and social-emotional competencies of DLL preschoolers and the delivery of culturally responsive services, supports, and assessment/evaluation procedures.
