Dr. Ramos-Torres is the undergraduate advisor for the special education program in the College of Education and is the cohort coordinator of Interns I. She teaches face-to-face courses at the undergraduate level for the Department of Special Education.

Prior to joining the Department of Special Education, Dr. Ramos-Torres was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Special Education at Vanderbilt University. The research projects focused on culturally and linguistically diverse (CDL) families with children with disabilities on transition and adult services. Dr. Ramos-Torres obtained her doctoral degree in special education (concentration in students with the most significant support needs) from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. She taught elementary general and special education in Puerto Rico and bilingual special education in Illinois.

Dr. Ramos-Torres has a sister with cerebral palsy and this personal experience led into the field of special education.
