Alumni Q&A with Kevin Zlotnik, BS ’10, MBA ’15

College of Education alumnus Kevin Zlotnik (B.S. ’10, MBA ’15) is an exemplar of how the connections made at UT can lead to a lasting and enriching career, and how your professional path can be one of fulfillment and surprise.

Zlotnik graduated from the College of Education with a degree in Sport Management—a popular program within the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education—and a goal of pursuing a career in the sports industry. With two impressive internships in the field and an MBA from UT’s McCombs School of Business added to his resume, Kevin went on to become the Chief Investment Officer at BZMZ Interests where he spent six years overseeing the Sugar Land Skeeters minor league baseball franchise. Recently, Kevin sat down with us to discuss his academic and professional journey and about how UT and the College of Education helped him find a balance between his career and his passions.

Committed to supporting the next generation of sport industry leaders, Kevin and his wife Lauren have established the Zlotnik Family Endowed Excellence Fund in Sport Management. Their endowment provides support for students engaged in internships and other experiential learning opportunities that prepare them for a successful career after graduation.
