Erin Rodríguez and J. Mark Eddy, professors in the Department of Educational Psychology, have received New Directions seed funding for their work in developing evidence-based interventions for parents, caregivers and family members of pediatric brain tumor patients. The grants support faculty pursuing innovative research aligned with national priorities.
In partnership with providers at Dell Children’s Hospital, Rodríguez and Eddy will test initial concepts and gather preliminary data as they compete for larger, long-term external funding opportunities.
Rodríguez has previously developed community-based coping skills interventions for families of children with asthma, while Eddy’s research has focused on outcomes of child- and parent-centered interventions.
