Keryn Pasch • Associate Chair
Keryn Pasch, associate chair and associate professor in Kinesiology and Health Education, has received a National Institutes of Health Research Project Grant (R01) to study the factors influencing the purchase and consumption of ultra-processed foods among toddlers. The project will examine the psychosocial and behavioral marketing influences on family purchasing decisions to help inform evidence-based food and nutrition policy interventions.
Pasch’s research focuses on how marketing unhealthy products—including tobacco, alcohol, food and beverages—influences youth and young adult risk behaviors. She also studies how high-risk behaviors such as substance abuse, obesity, sleep and caffeine consumption may co-occur among young adults.

Cathery Yeh • Associate Professor
Cathery Yeh, associate professor of STEM Education in Curriculum and Instruction, has been appointed by the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to serve on the Modernizing Mathematics Education for Grades 9-14 expert committee. The committee will examine how U.S. mathematics education could be modernized to reflect the changing role of mathematical sciences and ensure all students have the skills they need to pursue their future goals.
Yeh’s research designs, studies and scales collaborative approaches that improve mathematics teaching and learning by addressing how race, language and disability shape perceptions of ability across K-20 classrooms and education systems.
