Bridget Farr is a first-year PhD student in Education Policy and Planning. She spent nearly two decades in public schools, most recently as the principal of a public Montessori elementary school. Her K-12 experience guides her research interest in the impact of state and local policy on school quality, particularly the student outcomes of state accountability systems and the pressure for district boundary changes in response to declining enrollment.
Outside of academia, Bridget is the author of three novels for children and young adults. Her novel, The Truth About Everything, won Gold in Young Adult Fiction at the 2023 IPPY Awards. Her middle grade novels have been praised by Publishers Weekly and School Library Journal.
