Denise Minte de Almeida
Denise (she/her) is a doctoral student in the Learning Disabilities/Behavior Disorders program at The University of Texas at Austin and a Graduate Assistant for the Meadow Center for Preventing Educational Risk. She received her BA in Education in Brazil, where she also completed advanced training in learning and cognitive interventions for students with learning disabilities. She began her teaching career as an ESL instructor and instructional coordinator. She later trained and worked as an Academic Language Therapist, utilizing a multisensory phonics-based method, and as an Educational Neuroscience Practitioner for STEM interventions, implementing early mathematics and science interventions as well as computer-based strategies for students struggling academically, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and specific learning difficulties in reading and mathematics. She also pursued a masters degree in Psychological Intervention in Education and Development at the European University of the Atlantic in Spain and later served as a school leader.
