Dimitris Rigalos (GRE) is a PhD student and educator with an interdisciplinary background in Physical Culture. His research focuses on the philosophy of education and sport, ethics, the history of sport, and the Olympic Movement. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Physical Culture and Sport Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, supported by a full fellowship (Texas New Scholar, Graduate School Recruitment Fellowship, and multi-year Teaching Assistantships).
He holds a BSc in Physical Education and Sport Science from the Democritus University of Thrace, an MSc in Olympic Studies, Olympic Education, Organization and Management of Olympic Events from the University of Peloponnese (Olympic Solidarity Scholarship), and an MA in Sport Ethics and Integrity from KU Leuven (Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Scholarship), co-hosted by Charles University, Johannes Gutenberg University, Pompeu Fabra University, and Swansea University.
Alongside his academic work, Dimitris has held leadership and teaching roles across the sport and education sectors. He has served as a lecturer at multiple international higher education institutions and held leadership roles in sport and education, including Director and Coordinator of Educational Programs (developing Olympic and Physical Education curricula), Operations Program Director for Community Sports Development, and Project Manager/Associate Director (overseeing multi-university collaborations and innovative program planning).
