I always wanted to attend an HBCU - Historically Black College/University! YOU KNOW
While attending Jarvis Christian College (now Jarvis Christian University), I participated in work-study programs, co-initiated a tutoring partnership with Hawkins ISD for students and parents while also provided peer tutoring in mathematics and standardized test preparation. These experiences reinforced my passion for education and strengthened my goal of eventually advancing to a role in higher education.
My journey as an educator has taken me around the world and back to TEXAS, where I am actively pursuing a terminal degree in STEM Education to advance equity and excellence in teaching, with a focus on improving outcomes in underrepresented communities.
