Sam Cotthoff

Samuel (Sam) Cotthoff graduated summa cum laude from Centre College in May 2026 with bachelor of arts degree in Anthropology and Sociology with a minor in Music. At Centre, Samuel was a Brown Fellow and served in various leadership roles in the Student Government Association and Beta Theta Pi. He served as the Chair of the Student Judiciary and worked as a First Year Mentor and Centre Wellness Advocate. He researched the queer experience in Greek Life at Centre and presented at various local and national conferences, including the Annual Meeting of the Anthropologists and Sociologists of Kentucky and the Society for Applied Anthropology. Samuel also independently released an album, Anecdotes of a Queer Gemini, in October 2025. He was awarded the John Marshall Harlan Award for leadership, the Student Life Leadership Award for his commitment to student activities and campus life, and one of the Max P. Cavnes Prizes, awarded to the best-loved and most-respected seniors. Samuel also earned membership in Phi Beta Kappa.

At the University of Texas at Austin, Sam works as the Graduate Assistant for the Sorority and Fraternity Life Ambassador Program.
