Tepera R. Holman is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Texas at Austin. HIs research interests includes understanding the experiences of Black college students from rural areas. In particular, he is interested in knowing how the students make meaning of their experiences at urban large research intensive historically White institutions (HWIs).

In addition to being a doctoral candidate, Tepera is the Assistant Dean for Community and Student Engagement in the College of Natural at UT Austin. He earned a bachelor's degree in government and Black studies and a master's degree (M.Ed.) in Higher Education Leadership and Policy both at UT Austin. Throughout his career he has worked to provide support to college students through advising, programming and leadership development; primarily first-generation and historically excluded college students.
